In 2005, helped and encouraged by her children, Thérèse Tanguay Dion set up the Maman Dion Foundation. The Maman Dion Foundation's mission is to promote the fulfillment, development of self-esteem and the desire to succeed in school among young Quebecers aged between 5 and 16 years old from disadvantaged backgrounds through the distribution ticket of school effects and new clothes.
The Foundation responds to thousands of requests for assistance per year. We have helped more than 30,000 children across the 17 administrative regions of Quebec. Since 2005, more than 7.5 million have been donated to help children.
“We believe that since school is compulsory, it is essential that all children in Quebec have on hand all the materials necessary for their academic success, regardless of their region, their economic condition or the life context of their children. parents,” as Mrs. Claudette Dion explains so well.
