The fig. It is one of the healthiest fruits, a source of numerous vitamins (A, K, B1, B5, B6…) and minerals (calcium, copper, iron, manganese, magnesium, potassium…), more than in most other fruits.
Like many fruits, figs help reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, certain cancers, and some chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Among some benefits of dried figs are:
- Excellent for heart health and blood pressure
- Because of its high iron content, very good for pregnant women and vegans
- Being a good source of magnesium, it prevents fatigue, stress, and brittle hair and nails
Dried figs are very rich in antioxidants and fiber (more than prunes), so they aid digestion and are especially recommended for constipation.
