Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 3/4 cups Les Brutes Nature TVP
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground clove
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Freshly ground pepper
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
Preparation
- In a saucepan over medium heat, soften the onion and garlic in the oil. Add the TVP, broth, spices, and salt. Stir well with a wooden spoon. Add pepper. Cover and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the oats. Continue cooking uncovered until the liquid has completely evaporated, about 3 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan, ramekins, or other containers. Cover with plastic wrap directly on the surface of the cretons. Refrigerate for 4 hours or until the mixture is completely cooled.
Keep refrigerated for 7-10 days; does not freeze well.
