A small dose of vitamin D has been added to prevent a potential epidemic deficiency. Several studies show that vitamin D deficiency can promote the development of certain types of cancer, including colorectal, breast and prostate cancer. Vitamin D is also an effective mediator of the immune system. The effective dose of vitamin D varies considerably from person to person, and for this reason we have added only a small dose of 100 IU per capsule. The best way to measure vitamin D needs is the blood test for 25-OH vitamin D, and the optimal result is between 75 and 150 nmol / L.

Green tea extract is used in our formula for its exceptional antioxidant properties. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) extract is one of the most powerful active ingredients in green tea. The addition of 90 mg of EGCG, standardized to 45%, is equivalent to several cups of green tea. Green tea cleanses the body, thereby promoting the elimination of toxins harmful to healthy metabolism.

Curcumin is a powerful anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anticancer and hepatic detoxification agent… used in India for over 2500 years to treat inflammation, poisoning and cancer, curcumin's reputation precedes it. We use it in this formula to promote body detoxification, notably due to its strong effect on the liver.

DIM (diindolylmethane) is an indole found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts… DIM has a positive effect on hormonal health by supporting the proper function of certain enzymes that promote healthy estrogen metabolism in women and men. DIM adjusts estradiol levels by converting it into less harmful metabolites.

Calcium D-glucarate is the salt of D-glucaric acid. Taking a calcium D-glucarate supplement inhibits beta-glucuronidase, an enzyme involved in phase 2 detoxification. Throughout this phase, carcinogenic chemicals, steroid hormones and other fat-soluble toxins bind to glucuronic acid in the liver and are then excreted via the bile ducts. This process is called glucuronidation, and it is the primary method of excreting estrogens such as estradiol, as well as cholesterol and a number of other carcinogens.

Bioperine (piperine) is the active ingredient in black pepper. It is now used to help increase the bioavailability and absorption of certain natural compounds. The EGCG from green tea, resveratrol and curcumin are particularly affected. Bioperine will greatly enhance the bioavailability and blood concentration of these natural ingredients.

Trans-resveratrol is probably one of the most popular phenolic compounds, particularly for its fantastic antioxidant capacity. This distillate is indeed remarkable; at low concentration, studies have shown that resveratrol can block estrogen actions and even block some of its production at higher doses. Its action on estrogens is partly based on the fact that resveratrol is a SERM (selective estrogen receptor modulator) like the drugs tamoxifen and clomiphene. This alone makes it a great ally in combating the increasingly common hormonal imbalances of today. More good news has been discovered about this compound: the powerful anti-inflammatory properties of resveratrol could slow or even prevent the development of certain conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular problems.

Sulforaphane

It is well known that cruciferous vegetables are recognized for their anti-cancer properties and for positively modulating estrogen levels. For many years, diindolylmethane present in these vegetables has been used to promote healthy estrogen metabolism. Only recently has science isolated another very interesting component present in cruciferous vegetables, particularly broccoli sprouts: the powerful sulforaphane. Known since the late '90s, this isothiocyanate is recognized for its anticancer properties, notably by inducing cellular apoptosis (cell death). It also has the ability to reduce estrogen receptors and may detoxify the liver of estrogens and xenoestrogens. It is very important to verify the source of sulforaphane because this compound is quite fragile.

Recommended duration of use: consult a healthcare professional for use beyond 12 weeks.

Contraindications: do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Discontinue use if joint pain or hot flashes occur. If you develop symptoms related to the liver (e.g.: abdominal pain, jaundice) or symptoms of low estrogen, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

Warnings: consult a healthcare professional before use if you are trying to conceive, if you are taking medications, if you have or are predisposed to cancer, if you have gallstones or biliary obstruction, if you have a stomach ulcer or excess stomach acid, if you have an iron deficiency, if you are taking medications or natural health products, if you have a liver disorder or symptoms of low estrogen (such as joint pain, mood changes, changes in libido, hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness or irregular menstruation). Consult a healthcare professional if you have a liver disorder. Discontinue use if you develop symptoms of liver problems such as yellowing of the skin/eyes (jaundice), abdominal pain, dark urine, sweating, nausea, unusual fatigue and/or loss of appetite and consult a healthcare professional. Rare and unpredictable cases of liver damage associated with products containing green tea extract have been reported (in Canada and internationally).
